Imphal, May 05 2018: Imphal East Women PS arrested yet another suspect in connection with the death of one Nirupama whose body was found in a highly decomposed state at Haraorou Tolongkhomba Chingkhong on April 23 .

The suspect Rockyson Abonmei (24) s/o Albert Abonmei of Awang Potsangbam Khunou Terakhong, was arrested by the Imphal East women PS at around 7 pm yesterday from his residence.

Rockyson was produced with a prayer for seven days remand in police custody before the Special Court POCSO Imphal East by the IO of the case.

The IO submitted that during preliminary interrogation, it came to light that the said individuals (who also happens to be another boyfriend of the victim) is highly suspected to be involved in the case as well and prayed for seven days police remand.

The Court satisfied with the prayer, remanded the suspect into police custody till May 11 .

It may be mentioned that the highly decomposed body of the girl was found at Haraorou Tolongkhomba Chingkhong on April 23 and police arrested two of the victim's family members for failing to inform or lodge any missing complaint before the police station concerned.

Three suspects who were arrested in connection with the case were released on bail a few days ago while one suspect identified as Takhellambam Kishan was taken into 6 more days in police custody (till May 9) after being produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West Court yesterday.
