International Women's Film Festival 2019 from Mar 8 to 10

Imphal, March 05 2019:
International Women's Film Festival 2019, will be organised from March 8 to 10 at Manipur State Film Development Society (MFSDS), Palace Gate, as a part of the International Women's Day observation.
The festival will be organised by Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI), Film Society of Manipur (FSM) and MSFDS under the theme 'Celebrate women's power and peace through cinema'.
Speaking to media persons at MSFDS premise today, FSM president Meghachandra Kongbam said that the festival in Imphal will be one of the many events organised by FFSI in 12 selected cities of the country, as a part of the International Women's Day observation.
A total of 8 films (7 feature films and 1 short film) will be screened during the festival, he informed adding that Art and Culture Commissioner as well legendary actress Yengkhom Roma will also attend the function.
Su (water), a Kazakhstan short film and Tasfiya (purification), a Tajikistan romance film, will be shown on the first day and on the second day of the festival, Krishno Pokkha (Bangladesh), Bokul (Assamese) and 'Trind Bank of the River' (Malayalam) will be shown.
On the second day, FFSI vice president Premendra Mazumdar will give an important speech, he added.
On the last day of the festival, Pather Sandhan (Bengali), Nodijon (Bangladesh) and Rowdy Women of Kiragooru (Kannada) will be screened.
Almost all of the said films are directed by women, Meghachandra said adding that many of the films have women cinematographers as well.
