Imphal, October 04 2015:
The Naga People's Front, Ukhrul Division has alleged the State Government of showing favouritism in connection with the appointment of the new Chief Secretary of the State.
"By passing Ameising Luikham, IAS (1981) and appointing O Nabakishore, IAS (1984) as the new Chief Secretary of Manipur shows the State Government's blatant acts of discrimination, political and racial victimization against the deserving people particularly the tribals," NPF, Ukhrul division said in a statement.
Citing instances of overlooking deserving tribal officers at the time of promotion to various high ranking positions, the statement said that the State Government's slogan "Ching-tam Amatani" disappears during crucial decision making processes.
Manipur is home to various communities and cultures and giving special preferences to a particular community can never bring an overall development in the State, the statement added.
