Zeliangrong Union reacting to the UNC's decision to boycott former outer MP Mani Charenamei has categorically asserted that the UNC's decision is unconstitutional and undemocratic.
Mani Charenamei was blamed for the defeat of the NPF candidate Soso Lorho in the Lok Sabha election by UNC.
ZU claimed that if Charenamei had divided the Naga votes leading to the defeat of NPF candidate, then the same blame could be put on the other two Naga candidates who also divided the Naga votes.
In a press release, ZU general secretary K Poushinglung said that the UNC has shown immaturity by boycotting Mani Charenamei and unthinkingly publishing the same pn the print media.
ZU also added that the UNC or any other NGO can exercise their authority to boycott its members only within the ambit of its organisation.
They further requested the UNC to withdraw the declaration of social boycott against former outer MP Mani Charenamei.
