ACA holds anniversary cum prize distribution ceremony

Imphal, April 04 2018: The 19th anniversary cum prize distribution ceremony of Association of Commerce Alumni (ACA), Department of Commerce, Manipur University was held today at the conference hall of the department.

Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University attended the function as chief guest while Prof Robita Sorokhaibam, Head, Department of Commerce, MU & ACA president; Prof N Lokendra Singh, Dean, School of Social Sciences, MU and Prof GP Prasain, Department of Commerce, MU were present as president and guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Prof Pandey stated that commerce is the backbone of all kinds of businesses while corruption is the speed breaker in the development process.

Good commerce practices can help to curb corruption to a great extent, he added.

He applauded the Commerce Department for organising such competitions, saying good works should always be awarded.

He maintained that ACA is an association which looks after the present, past and future aspects of the subject.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof Lokendra stated that Manipur is the gateway of South East Asian region so the State is going to be an economic hub of the region in coming years.

Department of Commerce, MU will play a pivotal role in this regard, he asserted.
