Imphal, March 04 2016 :
The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) today said that some HSLC exam candidates at Khurai Lamlong Higher Secondary School were caught using unfair means during the science examination.
Speaking to mediapersons, KSA HRD secretary Kh Angouton said that members of KSA went to Khurai Lamlong Higher Secondary School for an inspection.
Upon reaching, the team found some candidates rummaging through pages of questions and answers' sheets and copying.
Expressing shock over the behaviour of the student candidates, Kh Angouton questioned if parents are playing their role in encouraging their children to excel academically without indulging in such misconduct or are involved in instigating the students to rely on unfair means.
While some students are burning the midnight oil to get through the board exam, some students are busy using the study time to plot how to copy during the examination, he said.
Questioning the role of the invigilators and authority concerned in maintaining the exam decorum, he said such incident should have never happened had the students were frisked before the exam.
Question paper for chemistry carried 37 questions out of which the students have answers for 24 questions in their questions and answers' sheets, he asserted.
Such unfair conduct of examination should be looked into and proper probe on how the students got hold of the questions which are to be asked in the examination should be conducted.
