Free children heart operation camp from Oct 6

Imphal, August 03 2024: SKY Hospital & Research Centre Pvt Ltd, Imphal in collaboration with Manipur Heart Foundation, Imphal and UK based Healing Little Hearts (HLHs) will be organising a week-long Free Children Heart Operation Camp at SKY Hospital from October 6 to 12, 2024.During the camp, the joint team will be operating 2-3 children with various birth heart defects who will not survive without such operative treatment.

Every heart surgery of such little kids takes at least 4-6 hours.

The visiting team consists of 8 highly qualified and experienced specialists, namely Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon, Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthetist/Intensivist, Paediatric Cardiac OT nurse, Paediatric Cardiac Perfusionist and Paediatric CTVS post-op ITU nurses.

Speaking to media persons today at SKY Hospital, Dr Shyamkishore Lairikyengbam, Chief Cardiologist and Chairman of SKY Hospital, made the announcement of the camp and urged the people of Manipur and North- Eastern states of India to avail the benefits of such unique opportunity and give their children a new lease of life.

Appealing to the medical fraternity of the region to advise their eligible patients to take the opportunity, he shared that registration for the camp will start from August 5 on first Come first served basis although priority will be given to children belonging to BPL family and very sick ones.

"Free OPD and free Echo also will be provided to the children selected for the camp", added Dr Shyamkishore.

Dr Sanjiv Nichani, OBE, founder President of Healing Little Hearts (HLHs), participating in the press conference via zoom from London said that this will be the 6th of such camps jointly performed by HLHS, UK in collaboration with SKY Hospital.
