Senapati, February 03 2025: An LPG bullet tanker met with an accident close to Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in the vicinity of Assisi Girls' Hostel at Maram Center in Senapati district on Monday morning.

The incident, which occurred along NH-2, resulted in a significant gas leak, posing a threat to people living in nearby areas.

Though no casualty was reported from the gas leak, it caused public panic around the vicinity aof the hostel.

Quickly responding to thae situation, Assam Rifles personnel with fire extinguishers rushed to the spot and isolated the area of gas leak.

Traffic was temporarily halted on both sides of the highway to safeguard commuters.

The Assam Rifles jawans thereafter carried out a rapid evacuation of students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and guided them to a secure place.
