Bonfire marks beginning of 2018

Kangpokpi, January 03 2018:
Kangpokpi Christian Church lit a bonfire at its Church campus today to mark the end of its New Year celebration and to symbolize burning of all the past mistakes, wrongdoings etc of the previous year.
The bonfire also signified promotion of a better life in the present year.
The campfire was organised by Kangpokpi Christian Khangthahte (KCK) and was participated by numerous youths of the Church.
Various recreational games and activities were also held as a part of the gathering.

The participants in the bonfire also engaged themselves in cleaning and tidying up the Church campus and taking down the decorations of the celebration while marking the event with a hearty campfire feast.
A Gospel service was also held in the presence of the Church Pastor Rev J Lunkim.
Rev Lunkim, Pastor of KCC set the bonfire which was constructed from the debris and tree branches collected during the cleanliness activities while the participants, boys and girls and the members of KCK held their hands and walked around the bonfire singing hymns and songs.
Speaking to media persons, KCK president Chuchung Thangeo said that the bonfire is organised annually after the new year celebration.
He urged the youth to forgive and forget the past mistakes and move forward with an innovative approach to glorify the name of Jesus Christ throughout the year. He extended his wishes for a prosperous new year to all denizens of Kangpokpi and the State.
