AMMOCOC demands SIT probe

Imphal, November 02 2024: The All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Co-Ordinating Committee has expressed grave concern over the shooting incident that took place at Leingangpokpi Police Outpost in Jiribam district on Saturday morning.

In a release, AMMOCOC said that one Khulakpam Shahjahan, OC In-charge of Leingangpokpi Police Outpost was allegedly shot dead by a Constable identified as Akoijam Bikram at around 10 am today.

The committee expressed its profound sadness over the demise of Khulakpam Shahjahan and urged the Government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by an officer not below the rank of IGP and conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting incident.

The committee also demanded the Government to find the truth behind the shooting incident and award befitting punishment to the culprit at the earliest.

Further, AMMOCOC expressed profound condolence over the demise of Khulakpam Shahjahan and shared the grief of the bereaved family.
