Tangkhul CSOs call for 3 days fast

The Tangkhul CSOs conglomeration of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long/headman Association and Tangkhul Zonal chairmen have jointly called for three days fasting prayer and participation for all Tangkhul community.
The three days fasting programme was called to "repent, submit and to seek the divine intervention of our Almighty God" .
The Tangkhul community irrespective of their religions or denominations is all set to start the fast from August 7 and end on 9, for early Indo-Naga political solution and for the pandemic Covid-19 crisis.
The circular informed that the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue is at the crucial stage.
It may be mentioned that the vexed Indo-Naga political dialogue, which is under negotiation for more than 23 years between the Government of India & NSCN IM has not made any breakthrough.
Nagas have been yearning for early political settlement, in order for peace to prevail in the region, it stated.
During the three days fasting programme, restraint of inter villages movement in all Tangkhul Villages under TNL jurisdiction (both Ukhrul and Kamjong district) has been imposed.
Further, they urged every household to observe the three days prayer programme by adhering to the SOPs of Covid-19 .
Although, there will be no public gathering, the respective villages headmen and its VA members were endorsed to oversee and strictly enforceme to partake in the prayer.
Meanwhile, the Tangkhul Naga Long is also set to observe day of signing of Framework Agreement between Government of India and NSCN IM tomorrow at TNL Hall, Ukhrul.
It may be noted that the Framework Agreement was signed on Aug 3, 2015 at Delhi to end Naga issue.
During the observance, TNL president Hopingson A Shimray will address the function while Rev M Luiram will lead a special prayer session.
