Imphal, September 01 2014: Consumers Club Manipur (CCM) organised a one-day awareness programme on the topic, 'Consumer rights and duties' at GP Women's College today.

CCM president P Arunkumar and GP Women's College Principal Y Chandrasakhi Devi attended the function as dignitaries.

In his keynote address, CCM General Secretary M Purnachandra Sharma said that a similar programme has already been organised for Imphal East district in Biramangol College, Sawombung recently.

Knowledge on consumer rights and duties would be imparted to the youths, who are reading in Class XI and above, he added.

Speaking at the programme as a resource person District Consumers Dispute Redressal Forum President Advocate Dr Ch Narendra said that consumers may approach to Consumers Club or Consumer Forum if they have any complaint.

Former Principal of DMC Science, G Tomba Sharma and senior journalist Irengbam Arun also spoke at the programme as resource persons.
