Information and Statistics Commission (IMSC) draws attention

Information and Statistics Commission (IMSC) has drawn the attention of the Commissioner and Director of MAHUD regarding delay in the construction of public toilets in Ward No 3 of Imphal Municipal Council.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, IMSC chairman Khumbongmayum Gambhir said, although it is said that necessary fund for the construction of these toilets provided under the 2nd State Finance Commission has been transferred to the account of Ward Development Committee, Ward No 3 Councillor Hijam Nutanchandra is allegedly delaying the said work.
Gambhir said that the concerned Government authority transfered the fund in the account of IMC for the construction of 10 public toilets at different localities of every Ward on May 26 this year.
The same fund was transfered in the accounts of Ward Development Committees after a few days, he said and added that Councillor, Ward Member Secretary of Ward Finance Committee and Ward Finance Committee Chairman of Ward No 3 have withdrawn the amount.
However, they have neither started any work nor listen to call of the public regarding the matter.
