Imphal, April 01 2021: Ima Thambal Lairembi Meira Paibi Nupi Kanglup has appealed the Government and the authorities concerned to find out the truth behind the death of 5th Semester MBBS student, Sanaton Athokpam.

In a statement, the Meira Paibi Lup said that the police should file an FIR and investigate the "suspected murder case" .

Considering the mysterious nature in which Sanaton was found dead, it is highly suspected that he was "murdered", it said.

It may be noted that Sanaton Athokpam was found dead inside his room at RIMS hostel with both hands tied behind on March 15 .

Since then, the Justice for Sanaton Athokpam has been demanding an impartial investigation and find out the truth behind his death.

It had accused RIMS authority of trying to cover up the death and also appealed the Government to rope in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case.
