Bishnupur, February 01 2023: Demanding the inclusion of Meitei-Pangal in the Scheduled Tribe list of the Constitution, the Meitei-Pangal Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Moirang AC MLA, Thongam Shanti at his office in Moirang Philem Leikai.

Speaking on the occasion, Thongam Shanti stated that as a representative of the people he would always work for the welfare of all the communities residing in the State.

Islam Makakcha shared that the demand for inclusion of Meitei-Pangal in the ST list is essential to uplift the community which is backward in all parameters.

Earlier, the Committee also staged a sit-in protest at Kwakta Bazar demanding the inclusion of Meitei-Pangal in the ST list.
