Imphal, August 31 2015:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has said that the student's body will continue to press the Government until the three Bills passed by the State Legislative Assembly are transformed into Act.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference held at their Keishampat head office, DESAM president M Angamba said that it would not be right to stay silent with passing of the three Bills.
There are still lots of things do be done for its final implementation, he said.
As such, DESAM would continue its public meetings on the issue, Angamba said.
He further said that DESAM's hunger strike would also continue until last rites of Sapam Robinhood are performed.
Angamba said that hunger strikes staged by the volunteers of other units would now be continued at DESAM head office.
47 DESAM volunteers have staged indefinite hunger strike ever since the students' body launched the stir on August 18 .
He also urged the Government to take up necessary steps to reopen educational institutes at the earliest.
On the otherhand, Angamba clarified that DESAM had never indulged in vandalisation of educational institutes.
The organisations which have carried out such violent activities must be held responsible for any untoward incident in future, he cautioned.
Angamba also thanked the Government and State Assembly for passing three Bills to pave way for ILPS implementation.
