Imphal, August 31 2011: The Uripok Kendra Youth Development Organisation has announced that it would extend support to the 24 hour general strike called from midnight of September 1, if the Government fails to give a clear cut answer on the whereabouts of GM Changjou, the publicity assistant secretary of the RPF by September 1 .

Changjou was allegedly picked up by suspected army personnel from a place near SM College in Dimapur on August 18 at about 7 pm and has remained untraceable since then.

The general strike has been called by the JAC formed in connection with the case.

UKYDO in a statement said that anyone arrested, whether innocent or guilty of any charge must be produced before the Court for a trial and keeping the whereabouts of the arrested a secret is against the law of the land.
