CSOs, Meira Paibis take out torch rally

Bishnupur, July 31 2018:
Different clubs, organisations, Meira Paibis and students from Thinungei, Ningthoukhong and Toupokpi under Bishnupur district took out a torch rally at the surrounding areas of Ningthoukhong yesterday.
The rally, under the banner "We stand for territorial boundary of Manipur", was held against the failure of the Central and State Government to bring an amicable solution to the prevailing crisis in the State including the border issue.
A scuffle occurred between Bishnupur police personnel and the protesters, as the police personnel tried to halt them when they assembled at Ningthoukhong public park for the rally, reports our correspondent.
However, the rally was taken out till Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou and wrapped up at the park eventually.
Speaking to media persons, United Women Development Organisation Bishnupur general secretary as well as an important representative of Ningthoukhong Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, RK (o) Tombisana Devi stated mat the integrity of Manipur should not be affected and a real border pillar should be erected at the earliest.
She, on behalf of all other CSOs and Meira Paibis, demanded dismissal of MU Vice Chancellor, which has crippled the lives of the students and the academic atmosphere of Manipur University.
The Framework Agreement which has created a feeling of restlessness to the people and posed a threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur, the general secretary has urged the concerned authorities to bring a solution to all the prevailing issues at the earliest.
The Meira Paibis, womenfolk of various areas, different CSOs are set to launch intense agitations if the ongoing issues are not solved at the earliest.
