Governor, CS to grace flower festival at Mao

Senapati, March 31 2016: Governor V Shanmuganathan will inau- gurate the 2nd Flower Festival 2016 at Pfukhro Mao on April 9. Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and Senapati Deputy Com- missioner Jacintha Lazarus will also attend the occasion.

Organized by Mao Flower growers Association (MFGA) and Senapati district administration in collaboration with Hor- ticulture & Soil Conservation Department, State Commerce and Industries Department, the grand event will be supported by the Institute of Bio-Resources, Sustainable Development and elected representatives of the district.

According to the organizing committee, the State level festival which has been upgraded to three days extravaganza will also witness attendance of many elected members, high ranking Government officials, NGOs, flower growers.

Number of flower stalls will also be reportedly increased.

This festival is expected to attract more crowds and buyers following huge success and overwhelming response from the public last year.

Organic manures, flower pots, handloom items, tribal food cuisines will also be the main highlights of the mega festival.
