Imphal, January 31 2022: A blood donation camp entitled 'Ee gi Khudol Tamba' was held at Shija Hospital today organised by Democratic Students' Alliance Of Manipur (DESAM) .

Speaking in connection with the blood donation camp, Secretary of Health and Environment, DESAM, Oinam Surjakanta said that ever since its inception DESAM has been organising blood donation camps dedicated to the student community and the people of the State.

He further stated that around 80 members of DESAM donated blood during the blood donation camp which was organised in relation to DESAM's foundation day.

Expressing that there is no harm in donating blood, he appealed to all to increase the number of blood donors to meet the demand of blood shortage in times of need and emergencies.

He also maintained that many experiences shortage of blood especially at private hospitals.

In view of such a scenario, he appealed to authorities concerned to set proper criteria for opening blood banks in the State with special emphasis at hill districts and to provide necessary requirements accordingly.

Further sought the attention of the Government to overcome the blood crisis in the State.
