Medical reimbursement

A Science Graduate Teacher working under School Education Dept withdrew Rs 91,895 as medical reimbursement in the name of his mother-in-law .
As the fraud came to light after a complaint was lodged at the Anti-Corruption Cell, the same amount was recovered from his monthly salary .
Moreover, his salary increment was stalled once .
Science Graduate Teacher at Bengali High School Heikrujam Bishwajit, currently utilised (at the Education Department's head office withdrew Rs 91,895 as medical reimbursement in the name of his mother-in-law in 2002 .
The affidavit he furnished at the time of applying for medical reimbursement did not have signature of Oath Commissioner .
The matter was discussed at the review meetings held on October 8 and 11 with Chief Secretary RR Rashmi in the chair, and the case was closed .
Nonetheless, the School Education Director issued an order whereby the teacher's periodic salary increment was cancelled .
The order categorically stated that the definition of family as written in the Medical Attendance Rules 1944 does not encompass mothers-in-law of male employees.
