Towards the realisation of CM O Ibobi's initiative, 'Make in Manipur' campaign for creating self employment avenues and accelerating entrepreneurship, the State Govt has taken up measures to implement different projects in all districts according to their suitability.
At the same time, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Regional office, Guwahati has deputed an official to explore the projects under this initiative.
According to an official source, a Dy Director, Agri-business of RBI Guwahati Regional Office, who arrived here today, had a meeting with Principal Secretary (Commerce and Industries), Vivek Dewangan in connection with 'Make in Manipur' campaign.
The RBI official also inspected the State Govt project in Bishnupur district today.
He is set to visit Mao to inspect other projects tomorrow, the source said.
The State Govt has submitted a project proposal to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to implement the project in the nine districts of the State.
The proposal include projects worth Rs 15 crore each for every district.
The source said that a Kouna project will be implemented in Thoubal district, pineapple in Imphal East, fish in Bishnupur, orange in Tamenglong, bamboo products in Chandel, dry flower in Senapati, lemon in Ukhrul, plastic in Imphal West and spices project in Churachandpur.
The Department concerned is making efforts to help all beneficiary households get bank loan.
The Govt is also taking up measures to buy all the products, the source said.
The Commerce and Industries Dept has also taken an initiative for large scale plantation of aromatic and medicinal plants under the Make in Manipur campaign.
The source further said that nine projects of Manipur are among 17 livelihood incubator centres approved throughout the country, the source added.
Each of the project, to promote start-ups for innovation and entrepreneurship in agro-industry, will be implemented at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
