Langban Chara Tamba pays tribute to martyrs

Moirang/Kakching, September 29 2024:
A Langban Chara Tamba ritual was held at Bishnupur paying floral tributes to martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for Manipur in the ongoing conflict between communities.
The ceremony at Laimayum Mandap, Ningthoukhong Municipal Council Ward No 14 was organised by the family of Konthoujam Prabhavati and civil society organisations.
Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam, EPOM general secretary Rakesh Moirangthem, FOCS Bishnupur district secretary RK Ashalata, members of several CSOs and families of martyrs attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, EPOM general secretary Rakesh Moirangthem spoke on the conflict between Meiteis and the Kukis and urged all to unite for Manipur's integrity.
At Kakching a similar ritual was held at Kha Manipur College.
The All Kha Kanglei Students' Union organised the Langban Chara Tamba.
Laipham Pana Liklam Loisang member Salam Manggijao, AKKSU general secretary Ksh National, members of Joint Non-Govemment Voluntary Organisation, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association, Kakching Keithel Apunba Ema Lup, Arambai Tenggol Unit 26, Kha Manipur College NCC Unit and students took part in the event.
The gathering paid floral tributes to martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for Manipur.
AKKSU general secretary Ksh National underscored the importance of tracing the footprints of forefathers and preserving the indigenous faith.
He called on all members of the Meitei society to promote their culture, tradition and faith, and unite to face all forces threatening the community and Manipur's integrity.
