English translation of SriBiren's poems out

Imphal, June 29 2012: 'SriBiren's Poems, Volume-II', a collection of poems written by late Nongthombam SirBiren and translated into English by Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam was released during a function organised by Cultural Forum Manipur at its Rup Mahal Tank here today.

President of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal Prof Elangbam Dinamani Singh and President of Cultural Forum Dr Sorokhaibam Chaoba Singh were respectively Chief Guest and President of the function during which Dr Jodhachandra expressed regret over his inability to finish the translation of the poems while SriBiren was alive due to various engagements.

On the occasion, Laimayum Birendrakumar Sharma presented a critical appreciation of the poems being released.
