Kabui film to be translated into Manipuri

The Zeliangrong film Alung Rui Tho Khuai Mak Ge, which starred Zeliangrong and Meitei artistes and produced by Gangmei film productions will be dubbed into Manipuri and released again, said Star Kamei, president of Zeliangrong Film Forum, Manipur .
Talking to the The Sangai Express, artiste Star Kamei said that preparations are going on for dubbing the said film from Kabui to Manipuri for a wider audience.
The film stars Jaipou Gangmei, Biju, Sadananda and Pritam in key roles and is produced by Simon Gangmei and directed by Kepi Das and features choreography by Bebicha Salam.
Talking about Zeliangrong films, he said that they have been in production since 1990.The first film Kapuning was released in 1995.In all, around 42 films have been produced in Zeliangrong.
The Zeliangrong Film Forum, Manipur was founded on Oct 25, 2015 and its office opened at Kakhulong in Paona Bazar on Sep 18, 2017.He feels that instead of talking about the hill-valley harmony, it should be practised and artistic platforms are one of the best ways to achieve this .
Star Kamei is a veteran artiste who has acted in various plays and films.
He was born to Late Kamei Poupangai Kabui and Late Shomari Kamei-pui on Oct 2, 1950.He started acting since 1965, when he acted in a Kabui folk play Khangnegong.
He has 11 films in his kitty.
