KSO GHQ elects new office bearers

Churachandpur, August 28 2021: Election to elect new leadership that will steer the Kuki Students' Organisation GHQ for the term 2021-24 was held today at the Conference Hall of KIC Complex, Churachandpur with Lunngaisang Vaiphei elected as the new President and Jangkhosei Touthang, the new General Secretary.

Others who were elected for several post of the Kuki's apex student body included, Doumang Haokip as vice president (administration); Thanglenmang Simte as vice president (external); Thangkhomang Baite as secretary organisation; Wesley Lienmalsawm Neihsial as joint secretary; Thanglenmoi as education secretary; Boilhing Lhungdim as finance secretary and Seiminthang Haokip as information secretary.

Election for the three-year tenure was presided over by Jammang Haokip and Returning Officer Haopu Khongsai.

Representatives from district KSOs, sister organizations, city branches of the KSO, Karbi Anglong and NC hills (Assam) besides the incumbent KSO executives voted in the election from 11am till 3 pm.

Those representatives who could not physically make their presence have voted online, said a source.

The newly elected leaders were administered an oath of affirmation immediately after the results were made public.
