Imphal, February 28 2024:
Urging State legislators to initiate a discussion and pass concrete resolutions on the Privileges and Ethics Committee's preliminary report against the 10 Kuki legislators at the ongoing Assembly session, Imagi Meira staged a sit-in protest near Khuyathong Pukhri Achouba torday.
The protestors also urged the House Members to take a firm decision against extension of SoO pact with Kuki militants.
Speaking on the sideline of the protest, Th Sujata, convenor, Imagi Meira urged the State Government to heed the voice of the public and refrain from extending the SoO agreement with Kuki militants which is set to expire tomorrow.
On the other hand, she expressed discontent with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for praising Textiles, Commerce, and Industry & Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen while virtually attending the inauguration of JNV, Kangpokpi.
She pointed out that the Prime Minister has largely remained mum on the protracted Manipur crisis while Minister Nemcha Kipgen is one of the Kuki legislators who have raised the demand for separate administration.
