Three youths lured with promise of jobs go missing

Imphal, November 27 2011:
The whereabouts of three teenaged boys are not known after they have been lured away by a young man on assurance of providing lucrative jobs.
Wahengbam Ibochou (17) s/o W Sanayaima, Wahengbam Herojit (16) s/o W Jadumani and Pukhrambam Ibungoton (15) s/o P Kumar, all residents of Kumbi Kangjeibul Mapal have been reportedly taken from their respective houses by the accused identified as Nongmaithem Nepolean (30) of Kumbi Lai Achouba under Bishnupur district after assuring their parents of providing them lucrative jobs as security guards of the Chief Minister in the morning of November 16 .
Though the whereabouts of the three teenaged boys remained unknown, accused Nepolean has been, however, arrested by the Imphal West District Police from Moirangkhom Moreh Parking along with explosive materials on November 23 .
Talking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club here today, members of the JAC formed in this connection and the family members of the traceless youths, informed that Ibochou, Herojit and Ibungoton have been allowed to go along with Nepolean in the morning of November 16 as he assured that all three of them would be given job as security guards of the Chief Minister after a 10-day NCC training during which they would also be paid Rs 1000 each as stipend.
However, on November 20, the family members heard that the three teenagers were seen in Moreh.
But the news could not be confirmed for sure.
Amid all these developments, Kumbi police was informed about the arrest of three PREPAK cadres including Nepolean by Imphal West district police from near the Moreh Parking of Moirangkhom along with explosive materials on November 23 .
To confirm the matter, a public meeting was convened at Kumbi Bazar on November 25 and adopted various resolutions including formation of 10-member Joint Action Committee for rescue and handing over all three young boys, to request Imphal West district police for an audience with Nepolean to find out the whereabouts of the missing boys, etc.
Accordingly, members of the JAC today met DSP of Imphal West Police Madhunimai, who is also the IO of the case connected with the arrest of Nepolean.
In the meeting, the JAC members were told that one Paikhomba Khaidem (18) s/o late Kh Gyaneshore of Kumbi Bazar was also among the arrested three PREPAK cadres and bomb detonators and some money were recovered from their possession.
The JAC members were also told that among the three arrested, Nepolean has been detained under NSA.
Meanwhile, the JAC has announced its decision to expel all the family members of Nepolean if the three missing youths are not produced by November 30 .
It is said that the JAC have learnt from the family members of Nepolean that the three missing youths have reached Myanmar.
