Entrepreneurship is answer to unemployment problem: Edn Minister

Imphal, October 27 2018: Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam said that entrepreneurship is the answer to the unemployment problem of the State and the Country as well.

He said that entrepreneurial growth will create job opportunities for the educated unemployed youths and bring economic growth.

The Minister was speaking at the 10th Annual Cultural Festival of the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), Lamphelpat Imphal.

Success is achieved by those who pursue their dreams realizing the goal that he/she wants tr accomplish in life, he said and urged the students to empower themselves, by overcoming the weaknesses and keeping a steady focus towards their goals in life.

Business, he added is all about demand and supply and overcoming the fear to take risks.

Th Radheshyam said that the students who have the dream to become an entrepreneur or a businessman should start their planning and preparation early, keeping in view the possibilities of the future requirements.

He added that any innovation and initiative should be relevant not only in the present but future also.

Highlighting the achievements of ICM, its Director Dr N Ranjana Devi said that the ICM is becoming one of the key institutions providing training programmes under the Startup Scheme to the youths.

Under the Planning Department, Government of Manipur, ICM in a joint venture with the IIM Calcutta will set up an Incubation Centre in Manipur also, she said.

The festival was attended by dignitaries, officials concerned, teachers and students of the institute.

Prizes were also distributed to the students.
