Jiribam, July 27 2020: The Jiribam District VDF Welfare Association (JDVDFWA) has resolved to support all agitations launched by its parent body (All Manipur VDF Welfare Association) if the State Government fails to fulfil their demands on or before July 30 .

Speaking to media persons during a press meet held today at Babupara, Jiribam, general secretary of JDVDFWA, L Santajit Singh said that thousands of VDF personnel deployed in different districts of Manipur are undergoing arm down, pen down protest since July 16, demanding pay hike, 13 months allowance and job security.

While the Vice president of Jiribam District VDF Guardians Association, N Nivarani contended that the demands laid down by the VDF welfare association are very reasonable.

Though the VDF are employed in almost every department, even in quarantine centres for long hours, they enjoy a minimum salary package which is hard for them to run a family, she said and added that they will fully support all agitation launched by the VDF association in case the Government continues to ignore their demands.
