DC imposes containment measures in Thoubal

Thoubal, May 27 2021: The Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, in a statement issued today, declared stringent containment measures in selected geographical areas under Thoubal district in a bid to control the surge of COVID-19 infection in the second wave.

The measures include sealing of the geographical areas, ban of entry and exit of people from the containment areas, and initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.

Containment measures were imposed at the residential complex of- Ningthoujam Panchalnu of Khangabok Part III, Yaimabi of Heirok, Thokchom Samananda of Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak Leikai, Atom Keinahanbi of Thoubal Haokha, Moirangthem Sabi Devi & N Manglem of Heirok Part III, Wairokpam Jossica Devi & Wairokpam Ranbi Singh of Yairipok Khoirom, S Sushma Devi of Khangabok Laipat, Th Ngamba of Khangabok Leipat Leikai, P Leikham of Langathel, O Pravinkumar of Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai, Maibam Naobi of Hijam Khunou Nongpok Sekmai, Shamulailatpam Devajani of Lamding Laishram Leikai, Ningombam Henamdro of Thoubal Ningombam, Maibam Rojit of Langmeithet Mayai Leikai, Rahamatun Rahamat of Sangaiyumpham Part II, Khundrakpam Anita of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai, S Deepabali of Yairipok Bazar, Tekcham Romesh of Wangjing Heitupokpi, L Ashalata of Kairenbikhok Maisnam Leikai, Sungki Poangmai of Wangjing Bazar Checkol, Asem Thambal Tombi of Babu Bazar, Y Sarat of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, Md Islaorahaman of Lilong Sambrukhong, Ph Kapil Sharma of Thoubal Nonganngkhong, Manitombi of Thoubal Achouba, Surchand of Heirok Part I Heitupokpi Maning Leikai, N Basu of Wangjing Lamding Bazar, Ningombam Amujao of Thoubal Ningombam, S Rameshwor of Salungpham Maning Leikai, Mahen of Athokpam Awang Leikai, Kh Nageshwor of Khangabok Chirapur Leikai, L Suraj of Kiyam Awang Leikai, P Dhanapriya of Tekcham Mamang Leikai, it added.

It may be mentioned that 35 residents of 33 different localities in Thoubal district were tested COVID-19 positive and in the view of the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in the areas, containment measures to prevent spread of the disease in the district was necessitated.
