Awareness camp on EVM, VVPAT held at Motbung

Kangpokpi, March 27 2019:
As part of the awareness drive on Electronic Voting Machine and newly introduce Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail or simply Verifiable Paper (VVPAT) in connection with the ensuing 17th Lok Sabha Election 2019 in Kangpokpi District, District Administration/DEO under SVEEP programme relentlessly continue to impart awareness on EVM and VVPAT.
The awareness camp was conducted at different parts of the district under the supervision of Lalithambigai K, IAS, DC/DEO Kangpokpi and Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS, Nodal officer SVEEP Kangpokpi District.
EVM and VVPAT awareness camp was successfully held today at Motbung with the participation of more than 300 eligible voters and interestingly persons with disabilities have also shown keen participation in the awareness camp.
Speaking to the media persons, Nodal officer SVEEP Kangpokpi, Chunglenmang Kipgen said that awareness programme on EVM and VVPAT has been conducted with an aim to enhance electoral participation in the forthcoming general elections, boost the confidence of the voters and clear misconception about the use of EVM and VVPAT among the leaders of political party, Govt employees, and the general public.
He also said that it is very encouraging to witness some disabled persons coming forward to put hands on the EVM and VVPAT at the awareness camp held today at Motbung while adding that it will inspire others to come forward in the electoral process.
