Winter Disabled Mela to begin from Dec 3

Handloom and handicraft products along with other household items made by differently abled persons would be showcased at the 1st Winter Disabled Mela for inclusive Society to be held at Tera Primary School campus from December 3 till 5 .
Informing about the upcoming event, Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons president Ch Opendro Singh told newspersons at Sagolband Tera today that the fair would be a joint initiative of the Centre, Life Line Trust Centre, Handicapped Welfare Society, Leima Leiteng (Tera Lukram Leirak) and Chaokhat Khongthang SHG for Handicapped Persons.
Informing that fooding and lodging arrangement for the differently abled fair participants would be made by the event co-hosts, Opendra said objective is to have 20 or more stalls for providing a common marketing opportunity for the physically
challenged artisans.
Joining the media briefing, Life Line Trust Centre secretary Henthoingamba said along with facilitating exposure and sale of products by the differently abled persons efforts are on to conduct training programmes for further development of their skills in diverse trade.
He also appealed to all the 60 legislators of the State to contribute their mite in enabling the differently abled persons sustain their profession of interest by taking up specific programmes in their respectively assembly constituencies.
On the otherhand, Handicapped Welfare Society secretary RK Badal said as most of the differently abled persons depend either on their family or more fortunate colleagues there is need for the Government to extend all possible assistance so that the physically challenged also live a respectable life.
According to Leima Leiteng proprietor M Baby the fair would be held under the theme 'Break Barriers, Open Doors for an Inclusive Society for all' .
