Fund for 10,811 MOAP beneficiaries under GTV Mission transferred

Under the 'Go to Village Mission', Social Welfare Department has transferred Manipur Old Age Pension (MOAP) fund for 10,811 beneficiaries of 6 districts.
Pension benefits for remaining 10,022 would also be transferred as soon as reports from the remaining districts are received, said Social Welfare Director, Ng Uttam Singh today.
Addressing a press conference at his office chamber, Ng Uttam said, Chief Minister had launched the "Go to Village" Mission on May 1, 2018 in 60 villages across the 60 Assembly Constituencies in the State.

As part of the Mission, the Department of Social Welfare had issued forms for different schemes through Nodal Officers of the Department.
He stated that during the Mission, a total of 25,312 applications were received for availing benefit under Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme till June, 2019.The Director further said that in compliance of the instruction issued by Govt, all the District Social Welfare Officers have been directed to communicate with the MLAs concerned to confirm the genuineness of the beneficiaries under "Go to Village" Mission.
The Department has directed DSWOs concerned to furnish the reports on or before September 10, 2019, he said.
Though reports from some districts are still awaited, State Government agreed to transfer fund for the 10,811 beneficiaries of 6 districts through Public Finance Management System (PFMS) to Manipur State Co-operative Bank today.
The MSCB will deposit the pension amounts in the beneficiaries respective bank accounts.
The remaining pension benefits will be transfer in a phase manner after field verification reports are received, he said.
The Director urged beneficiaries concerned to maintain same name and address in Bank Account/Pass Book, Aadhaar card and voter i/card since they are all linked.
The MOAP amount transferred today was for six months of the current Financial year, ie, till August, 2019 (Rs 1,200/- each @ Rs 200 per month).
Documents related to MOAP were also handed over to the Bank official during the press briefing.
The press briefing was also attended by Joint Director (SW) Bantee Singh Konthoujam and Dy Manager, Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd.
