Ukhrul, August 26 2015:
The NPF Ukhrul division, showing solidarity to the elected ADC members of Chandel and Tamenglong, has sought the Governor's intervention for immediate formation of ADCs in the two districts.
According to a statement issued by the NPF, the Democratic Alliance has staked claim to form ADC at Chandel and Tamenglong respectively.
However the State Government deliberately delayed the ADC formation in spite of their claimed for the democratic rights and assertion.
The NPF expressed dismay and further questioned Deputy CM Gaikhangam about his credibility and integrity to the cause of tribals.
This present Congress led State Government shows no concern for the protection of the rights of the people of Manipur especially the tribals.
Therefore, the Governor must intervene and act in accordance with the provision of the Constitution of India.
President of NPF, Ukhrul division Wungnaoshang has stated that NPF will uphold and protect tribal rights.
He said delaying of ADC formation at Chandel and Tamenglong amounts to direct threat to people's rights.
NPF will launch different forms of agitation in consultation with various communities of the State as the State Government has intentionally alienated Tamenglong and Chandel.
