MP&PPWA condemns cruel act against ponies

Imphal, May 26 2020:
The Manipuri Pony and Polo Players' Welfare Association (MP & PPWA) has strongly condemned the horrendous act committed by unknown individuals on May 24 where eyes of two ponies were gouged out in Ikop Pat, Thoubal.
The press statement also informed that in another incident, one pony which was run over by a vehicle near NIT gate of Lamphel area was left with a severely broken limb.
Labelling the incidents as heartless and cruel, the MP&PPWA has strongly condemned the acts.
The Association has also appealed to the Government to catch the person(s) responsible and punish them accordingly.
It also appealed to all to help save the indigenous Manipuri Pony and to be more compassionate towards the animal.
While also alleging that there has been no work or action undertaken till date under the Manipuri Pony Conservation and Development Policy 2016 which was formed to save Manipuri ponies, MP&PPWA appealed to the State Government to intervene in the matter and take up necessary actions at the earliest.
