Intensified Mission Indradhanush launched in Thoubal

Thoubal, April 26 2018:
As part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan under the aegis of district administration, Thoubal, the District Health Society and District Family Welfare Office, Thoubal launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush programme at Yaithibi Khunou, Thoubal district yesterday.
Yaithibi Khunou Village is the only village selected in Thoubal district under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.
The formal launching programme was attended by L Iboyaima Singh, Pradhan, 27-Tekcham Gram Panchayat, Dr N Jayantakumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Thoubal and K Chakrapati Singh, Ward Member, 27/12 Tekcham Gram Pancahyat as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Shankar Reddy, Rapid Response Team Member of WHO also attended the function as special invitee, Dr N Akendra Singh, District Family Welfare Officer, Thoubal highlighted about IMI to the participating parents and children.
He said that the IMI was launched in order to fully immunise all children in the village and added that similar immunisation programme will be taken up for five days each in May and June covering children and pregnant women.
The programme which began on April 23 will continue till tomorrow.
Dr N Jayantakumar Singh, CMO Thoubal stressed on timely immunisation to prevent any illness and stay healthy.
Pregnant women can also contact ASHAs and Anganwadi workers for any health programmes and schemes so that they can avail the facilities at their doorstep.
Ch Basanta Singh, District Programme Manager, NHM Thoubal lauded the Pradhan and youth club leaders for their active cooperation and support in making the programme a grand success.
He also thanked the MO in Charge of PHC Khongjom and his staff for taking bold initiative in achieving 100% immunisation of children-and pregnant women in Yaithibi Khunou Village.
All the targeted children and pregnant women under Yaithibi Khunou were vaccinated today.
