Three hospitalised after consuming mushrooms
Source: The Sangai Express
Tamenglong, April 26 2015 :
Two members of a family and one neighbour have been admitted to district hospital, Tamenglong after they complained of headache and nausea after consuming three different types of mushroom together.
Locally known as Paan neih (Huyen), Sinukuan paan (Uchi na) (both grown on dead plants) and Tingkiak paan (grown on the ground), they were cooked together.
One neighbour was also affected after consuming the meal together with the family members.
It can be noted that, as per local beliefs, mushrooms grown on dead plants should not be consumed together with mushrooms grown on the ground.
