Imphal, June 25 2021: Former finance secretary of ATSUM, Kakai Singsit was arrested yesterday allegedly for making a remark against CM N Biren on social media.

Kakai was produced before Duty Magistrate Imphal West this evening along with a prayer for four day police remand.

The IO of the case through the APP submitted that Kakai was arrested following a complaint lodged by OC Imphal police station for putting up slanderous remarks against CM N Biren which was doing the rounds on Facebook and Whatsapp.

Kakai reportedly wrote "My dear tribal people, beware of this judazidcariot, called N Biren Singh, for four years, he seems acting as the saviour of the tribal people but take guard he's the man hell bent on destroying the tribal people" on his Facebook wall.

The IO further submitted that the context of the post on social media is giving a direct insult, disaffection, disloyalty to the present CM.

During the preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted to charges levelled against him, the IO submitted and prayed the Court for four days police custody remand.

The Court after perusing the case record remanded Kakai to police custody till June 29 .
