AMAWOVA celebrates 30th foundation day

The 30th foundation day of All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) was held at GM Hall today.
During the event, two music videos, Liklang Pareng and Shinnaipham Karambi, were also released.
Associate Professor, Department of History, GP Women's College Dr Nalini Nongmeikapam, president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur L Memchoubi and AMAWOVA president N Kunjarani attended the event as the [presidium members.
Speaking at the event, AMUCO president Ph Deban said that the present situation of the Naga peace talk has resulted in apprehension in the minds of the people and added that the people are fearful that the interest of the State will be harmed in an attempt to appease an organisation.

He continued that almost 92 percent of the land in Manipur is comprised of hills and only the 8 percent is the valley.
If the hills are claimed as belonging to the Naga and the Kukis, then only the valley will be left for the Meitei and others.
So will the State Government govern only the valley area in the future, he asked.
AMAWOVA president Y Kunjarani appealed to all the communities residing in the State to work together in unity to bring development and prosperity for all.
She urged the people, irrespective of community or caste to recognise the divide and rule policy being played by the Central Government.
AMAWOVA will face any threat to the integrity of the State as a result of the Naga peace talks, she added.
