CRPF conducts cleanliness drives

69 Bn CRPF at Mantripukhri conducted a cleanliness drive under “Swachhata Hi Sewa” today under the aegis of Vikram Sahgal, IGP, Manipur and Nagaland Sector, CRPF .
All officers and Unit personnel including a large number of civilians participated in the campaign.
Dharm Prakash Commandant, 69 Bn CRPF briefed the gathering about its significance and urged them to keep villages, playground and ponds and its surrounding areas clean .
He administered the pledge on the occasion and emphasised to devote at least 100 hours every year that is two hours every week towards cleanliness and make at least 100 people to do so and to be aware about it .
On the occasion, all officers, Subordinates officers and jawans and civilians carried out Safai Abhiyan at Tandan Pukhri, Mantripukhri and its surrounding areas including all the companies locationof the Unit to keep the area and its surrounding neat clean .
The cleanliness drive would be continued in future also .
As part of the campaign, a cleanliness drive was launched by Lal Chand Yadav, Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat under the aegis of Vikram Sahgal in association with LAKHSH Pioneer Committee of Naoremthong Khulem Leikai .
It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his “Mann Ki Baat” on August 17 last had appealed to the Nation to focus on cleanliness and create an environment of cleanliness across the country in the spirit of Jan Andolan (People’s movement) .
The campaign is to mobilise and create an awareness on environmental cleanliness in the entire country towards the making of a ‘New India’ .
Retired DIGP, Range Imphal Brig SK Sharma and Lal Chand Yadav came up with an actionb plan for overall cleanliness campaign at Naoremthong Khulem Leikai.
During the campaign, officers and personnel of 143 Bn performed cleanliness activities including arrangement of dustbins at prominent areas for segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, discarding of old junks, cleaning of garbage and pond and fogging of anti-malaria chemical in the area.
