Imphal, April 24 2019:
Greeting the people ahead of the 25th Raising Day of the KYKL, chairman of the outfit, N Oken today said that since India came into being as a country on a wrong and deceitful foundation, it has become a prison of different communities.
In a statement issued to the press today, the KYKL chairman broadly divided India into two-the heartland (mayon-lam) and the rim-lands (matai-lam), and these two together form India.
Even though there may not be big revolutionary movements apart from WESEA, Kashmir and Punjab at one point of time, today the divide between the heart-land and the rim-lands has become more and more pronounced underlining the point that the rim-lands are 'subjugated territories', said Oken.
Citing the current political reality, the KYKL leader said that today while the heart-land supports National political parties, it is the regional political parties which are holding sway at the rim-lands.
Odisha, West Bengal and Kashmir are apt examples where the regional political parties are calling the shots, said the rebel leader.
The politics of push and pull between the core and the periphery is evidence that the periphery are more concerned with their respective regions.
All these are evidences that India is fragmenting, said the statement and added that it would be impossible for the core to change the direction of this reality.
The irony however is that the politics in WESEA is following the politics of the core said KYKL and added that today, save for Mizoram all the other States in WESEA have started following the politics of the core.
Which ever party is in power at New Delhi grabs power in WESEA too, observed the outfit.
Given this reality then it becomes important for all to study why WESEA continue to follow the politics prevalent in the core, said the outfit.
This is indicative of the fact that the colonial mentality and slave morality have got a vice like grip on the people, said KYKL and added that there is report that a top rung leader of Kangleipak is understood to have prostrated himself to a political leader from the core, who is not only junior to him but also comes lower in protocol.
Today the mentality of the people is such that anyone from India stands heads and shoulders above them, alleged the outfit and referred to what French psychoanalyst O Mannoni said about the inferiority complex of a colonised people.
The mentality that they are better in every aspect, such as they are wealthier, more knowledgeable, more wise, their population is more than us, more articulate, etc are all symptoms of the colonial mentality, said the outfit.
Once a people is mentally colonised, then they cease to be humans, said the KYKL leader and added that this what is known as dehumanising a people.
Today situation has come to such a pass that the mentality one cannot get rich, cannot be educated, cannot be politically strong until and unless blessings are received from the core has stuck with the people, said the outfit and added that if things are not set right, there will come a time when the people would want to forsake their identities and merge with the others.
This mentality stems from the dependence syndrome of the people, said the outfit and added before 1949, the people lived as a self sufficient group of people, without depending on others.
However today the reality is such that the people have come under the impression that without the support of the core, they cannot do anything.
The mentality that everything has to be begged from Delhi has taken deep roots, said the outfit.
