Imphal, March 24 2017:
An individual does not need a Government job to establish a sustainable career.
If one is determined and diligent, any income generating opportunity bring remarkable changes in one's life, said artiste Khangam Ibomcha.
49-year old Khangam Ibomcha of Keisampat Keisam Leikai is a wood carving artist.
His hand carved idols and other varieties of products are in high demand outside the State.
Speaking exclusively to The Sangai Express, Khangam Ibomcha said, "For the past five years, I have been carving idols and other items out of Tairel, Wang and teak which are found in the State" .

Ibomcha has a store at Keisampat Keisam Leikai which is jointly run by him and his associates.
"We have 18 members working together to produce the finest wood carved products.
Among the 18 members, Priyo of Lamlai Pungdombam, Lukhoi of Kakching and Uttam of Kakching are well-known for their talents and have also won numerous awards.
We normally sell products worth Rs 40,000 to 80,000 per day," Ibomcha said.
He added, "The work we do is a collective effort and we are glad that people not only from our State but outside including tourists love our finished products.
Government jobs do provide a well-secure life and so do private business opportunities.
It all depends on how much a person is willing to try and work hard" .
