Imphal, January 23 2019:
Calling for a ban on all forms of 'Republic Day' celebrations in WESEA region on January 26, the Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak (ASUK) along with NLFT, KLO, NDFB and PDCK have called a total shutdown for 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm of January 26.In a joint statement issued to the press today, the outfits said that Republic Day is a day of National pride for the Hindi speaking mainland Indians and deserves joyous celebrations.
But for peripheral colonies like WESEA and Kashmir, this is a day of enslavement and mourning, alleged the outfits and added that India is not a Nation-State but a 'State-Nation' where the mainland colonizes the peripheries.
The Central Government of India has been forcing the rim-land colonies to celebrate her Republic Day every year, alleged the outfits and added that in the WESEA region, this is nothing less than a cruel practical joke.
Celebrations and festivals are handy tools used by 'colonizers' to dupe colonials into believing in the false stories invented by colonizers, alleged the outfits and added that soft cultural tools like education, media, arts, festivals, celebrations etc are used by Indian leaders try to paint a monochromatic picture of India in the hearts and minds of the colonized rim-land peoples.
The Republic Day is such a day utilized as a tool of colonization of the mind, alleged the outfits and added that the true history of the people of WESEA is substituted with a new history of India.
This erasure of historical memories makes it easy to make the people of WESEA Indians, alleged the outfits and added that this is a ploy to change the past and the present.
This will also enable India to change the future of the people too, further alleged the statement.
The future that is going to be inked is nothing but 'National death', claimed the statement.
One glaring example of such machination is the present issue of The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, said the joint statement and added that by violating all the norms and basic principles of Indian Constitution, the present ruling party of India is working overtime to demographically jeopardize the entire WESEA region.
The Bill proposes to open the door to all aspiring Hindu immigrants from Bangladesh which negates the Assam Accord of 1985 and the NRC of Assam.
This Bill, if enacted, will become a demographic 'death warrant' for the indigenous peoples of WESEA, added the statement.
This move shows that the present day Indian leaders love the Hindus of Bangladesh, who are foreigners in the true sense; but, on the contrary, they hate the indigenous peoples of WESEA, who are supposed de jure to be Indians, said the outfits and alleged that the real intention is to replace the indigenous peoples of WESEA with the Hindus from anywhere in the world.
This oppressive rule is being camouflaged by a number of meaningless spectacles like elections, celebrations and festivals.
As such the six different revolutionary groups of WESEA region, namely the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), National Liberation Front of Twipra (NLFT) and People's Democratic Council of Karbi-Longri (PDCK), have banned all forms of Indian Republic Day celebrations, said the statement and added that to effectuate the ban a total shut-down for 12 hours, from 6 am to 6 pm, on January 26 in the entire WESEA region is called.
Emergency services and religious functions are exempted, added the statement.
