Training program on 'Seeds Production' begins

Imphal, December 22 2020: A seven day certificate course on 'Seeds Production' kicked off today at the Farmer's Training Hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Sanjenthong.

The program is jointly organised by State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.

Joint Director of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Manipur Centre, I Meghachandra Singh and Director of Agriculture, Lalthanpui Vanchong attended as the chief guest and president respectively.

Reema Hemam, program coordinator of Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) said that the seven days training program is being conducted under STRY, a flagship programme focus�ing on rural youths.

She further stated that the certificate of the training program will be beneficial for the young farmers while taking loans for agriculture and allied activities.

Altogether 15 farmers from Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal district are attending the training program.
