Imphal, December 22 2019: The first Editor of 'Marup, a Manipuri newspaper published from Agartala, Mayengbam Nilmani Singha has been conferred with "Ningthoujam Chandrahas Memorial Award" during a simple function organised by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura at Agartala.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor, Dr Prafullajit and Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi Manipuri Language Convenor N Kirankumar among others.

During the programme, several awards such as "Leihao-Tembi Memorial Award, Surendrajit-Sija Bidhu Memorial Award, L Babudhan Memorial Award were also conferred to different personalities.

As part of the programme, a seminar on the life and literary work of Keithellakpam Chandra Kumar was also held.
