Jiribam, November 22 2011: The president and general secretary of All Jiribam Tribal Union have been sacked at a meeting held today at Tribal Community Hall, Jiribam.

The meeting alleged President Hena Vaiphei and Secretary Tahemang Panmei for misuse of power and fund of the union as the major factor for the expulsion.

The meeting also decried the involvement of the duo in politics.

During the meeting, Pausing Kamei, Dr.Emmanuel Zarsosang Varte and Thangthianmuan Tonsing were unanimously elected as president, vice president and general secretary of the union for a three-year term.

About a hundred leaders of different tribal communities such as Zeliangrong, Hmar, Paite, Kuki and Khasi attended the meeting.
