As a part of Quami Ekta Diwas, Manipur state Minorities Commission in association with the department of Minorities & Other Backward Classes and Manipur Minorities and Other backward Classes Economic Development Society observed 'Welfare of Minorities Day' on November 20, the second day of the Diwas, in all the valley districts of Manipur.

According to a release issued by Secretary, Manipur State Minorities Commission, the Commission along with officials of MOBC Department and MOBEDS organised a 'touring awareness campaign' with the cultural troupe of Malem Art & Cultural Academy and held street shows presenting songs which aroused the sense of national integration and spread messages highlighting various welfare schemes being implemented by the Government under the Prime minister's 15 Point programme.
Moreover a four-paged pamphlets in Manipuri transcription of the PM's 15 Point Programme were also distributed to the public to make the people aware of the schemes.
The touring programme ended at 7 pm at Cherapur Palli Bazar under Khangabok Assembly Constituency in Thoubal district with a mega concert performed by artistes of MACAM, added the Commission secretary.
