Job card holders stage sit-in protest

Imphal, August 22 2020:
Job card holders of Keirao Makting Gram Panchayat (GP) Ward No 8 Urup staged a sit-in protest today, demanding for the release of their wages.
Speaking during the protest demonstration, Panchayat Development Committee auditor Md Nijamuddin expressed that the job card holders of Keirao Makting GP have been not been paid their wages since July 2019 till date.

The pandemic has already affected many families, he stated and appealed to concern authority to not withhold the wages specially during this time of crisis and demanded they be paid at the earliest.
One job card holder at the protest also expressed that daily wagers are deeply impacted by the lockdown which has been in enforcement since late March this year.
He appealed to the concern authority to look into their demand and release their wages and also to continue employing them.
