Imphal, February 22 2020:
The president in charge of Manipur Peoples' Party (MPP), S Brojen has asked why the team led by self proclaimed interim president of the party L Krishnadas, is hesitant to investigate the funds used by the party during the Lok Sabha election.
Speaking to media persons at Waheng Leikai today, Brojen said that the claim made by MPP general secretary (adm) H Gitajen that he did not get any memo from the enquiry committee, is false.
On February 7, a working committee meeting was convened and the enquiry committee was formed.
Back then, he himself was present at the meet and even gave his signature, Brojen claimed.
He continued that there is nothing wrong in seeking the details about the expenditure incurred by the party during the Lok Sabha election.
On the other hand, Brojen clarified that MPP did not elect a new party president and added that O Jugindro is recognised by the Election Commission of India as the president of the party.
Jugindro still has around one and half year left as the party president, he informed.
